The North Woolwich Library refurbishment involves comprehensive demolition, including the removal of existing carpets, vinyl floor coverings, electrical and mechanical installations, built-in shelving, partitions, suspended ceiling tiles, and masonry walls as indicated in the demolition plan. The project will also see the removal of shopfronts, metal security shutters, sanitary fittings, and glass and wooden screens, followed by the installation of new shopfronts, security shutters, floor and wall finishes, kitchen units, and sanitary installations.
Further works include the installation of new flooring, including carpet tiles, entrance barrier matting, and vinyl flooring for specific areas such as toilets and the staff room. Additionally, the refurbishment includes thorough decorations. Lastly, the project accommodates for the installation of new electrically operated roller shutters, metal fascia, external signage, a handrail, structural supports, and overseeing the installation of children’s furniture and general shelving.
